Kotaku - This past weekend, I decided to play some Assassins Creed IV on PC. I dont know why, I just did. Whatever. Thats not the point of this story. I played the game on PS3 back when I reviewed it, then played more on PS4 to appreciate how much better it looked on better hardware. But I had never really done much with the PC version, despite liking the game. Thats mostly because for me, the PC version never ran all that well. Sometimes itd look great, hitting 60fps or close to it. But there were constant, maddening performance drops.

Assassin's Creed Rogue has you taking on the role of Shay Patrick Cormac, an Irishman in 1750's colonial America. Shay has recently been recruited to the Brotherhood of Assassins, but seems to have somewhat of an issue with some of his superiors. Despite this he is given control of a captured ship, the Morrigan, and after some initial training is tasked with finding an important manuscript and a device used to decipher it. Without giving too much away, Shay becomes disillusioned with some of the Brotherhood's tactics and turns against them, becoming one of the famed Templars instead.
